Rénn: A grimdark fantasy

Renn, is based on ancient Chinese history and mythology but differs from the growing number of fantasy books set in the Middle Kingdom, which mainly focus on either the Tang, Qing, or Republican eras. Renn goes much further back to the Bronze Age, where there is a darker mythology and history to work with. 

It is a story told by the two main characters against the backdrop of the rise and fall of the first Chinese empire. One is a princess, kidnapped and sold to a brothel, who must seduce a king to gain her freedom. The other is her warrior husband, willing to tear the empire apart to rescue her. 

Rénn is the first book of The Sundered Realms Trilogy: a brutal, sweeping epic of war, intrigue and betrayal, set in a world steeped in the history and myth of ancient China.
